It all begins with an idea.
Based on my personal narrative, The Outside Plug LLC emerged from my transformative experiences and recognition of systemic barriers facing minorities. Growing up in the North East Bronx, my perspective was significantly shaped by my transition to The Stony Brook School, where my exposure to diversity and different environments highlighted the stark contrasts in opportunities available to minority communities.
In 2020, recognizing how environment often determines outcomes for minorities ("product of their environment"), I established The Outside Plug LLC with a specific mission: to create a replicable pathway for underrepresented individuals to develop essential workforce and life skills. My own journey from the Bronx to a boarding school environment helped me understand both the challenges facing minority communities and the transformative power of access to different opportunities and perspectives.
The company name "Outside Plug" is symbolic of my goal to serve as a connection point or "plug" between underserved communities and external opportunities. By developing a structured blueprint for workforce development, I aim to systematically address the barriers I observed through my personal experience with systemic racism, providing others from similar backgrounds with practical tools to overcome these obstacles.
